Yard Sale

This morning when I woke up we were in Mommy’s truck and it was dark outside! I knew this was going to turn out to be a strange day. I just closed my eyes and went back to sleep. When I woke up again we were at Aunt Terri’s house and there was a ton of stuff out in the front yard. Bubba looked like he was having a lot of fun because he was surrounded by toys. I even seen a vacuum cleaner so I knew he was happy. I saw that Mommy brought my carrier and therefore I was happy. She put me in my carrier and for a while we folded clothes and straightened and organized all of the stuff out in the yard. Then people started pulling up and un-folding and un-straightening all of the stuff that we worked so hard to organize! Mommy, Aunt Terri, and Aunt April didn’t seem to care. I realized at this point that I was completely lost and had no idea what was going on. I decided just to take a nap instead. When I woke up later on people were still going through all of our stuff but there was considerably less stuff left to go through. I decided I was tired and I went back to sleep again. When I woke up that time Daddy was there! He helped everyone load up the rest of the stuff and we went home. I just don’t understand the things that grown-ups do sometimes!

6 Month Appointment

I just wanted to report that I’m a big boy! The doctor said I weighed 20lbs and 4oz and was 27.5 inches long. Mommy said that means I’m big!

Memorial Day Weekend

Sun Day morning me and Mommy got up and went to a baby shower. I don’t really know what that means. I know that lots of times when Bubba is looking for Daddy, Mommy tells him that Daddy is in the shower. Then Daddy comes out a little bit later and his hair is wet. Anyway, so me and Mommy drove and picked up Aunt Terri, and then we went to this shower thingie. Mommy and Aunt Terri talked a lot, played some games, and ate some yummy smelling food, and then we left. I still don’t understand what a shower is apparently because nobody’s hair was wet when we left. Then after we got home me and Mommy went to Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Todd’s house. We stayed there for a long time. I think Bubba had a lot of fun. I was really tired so I just went to sleep. Mun Day we went to Aunt April’s house. We played outside for a while and I got really sleepy. I went to sleep and when I woke up Mommy, Daddy, and every one else kept talking about how I had been asleep for four hours. I don’t really know what that means either. Anyway, I played with Daddy and Ben and I watched Bubba drive this big green thing all over the yard. Mommy and Daddy played some games with a big white ball and then we all headed home after it got dark outside. I look forward to tomorrow when I can just stay home by myself with Aunt Terri and get some rest. I don’t like being in my car seat and I don’t like it when we are gone away from home all day.

4/30/09

This morning was a little weird and out of sorts. Mommy left with Bubba like normal but came right back! Then my Aunt Terri took Bubba with her and left me with Mommy. I’m not complaining, it was fun to have Mommy all to myself today. I missed my Aunt Terri though. I think that Mommy needed a nap or something. She laid around on the couch all day. We did a lot of snuggling and a little bit of playing, but mostly we slept. Mimi brought Bubba home after it got dark outside. They ate some “KFC” whatever that is, then Mimi went home. Mommy fed me while Bubba watched Imagination Movers, then we snuggled and I went to sleep. It was a nice day. I never get to snuggle with Mommy because Bubba always gets jealous.

4/26/09

This morning we woke up early. Daddy gave me a bath and put some new clothes on me. After everyone had gotten their bath and their clothes on we got in the car to go to church. Usually it is just us and Aunt April’s family and Savanna there at church. Today Mimi, Pawpaw Phil, Nana, Pawpaw Tam, Aunt Terri, and Granny were there!! I snuggled up to Mimi and fell asleep. Then the Pastor said it was time for me to be “dead-e-kate-ed” whatever that means. We all went up front and Daddy handed me to the Pastor. Usually he just talks but today he wanted to hold me. He walked around with me and held me up in the air. Everyone was looking at me. After the third time he did this I got scared so I cried. He gave me back to Daddy. He talked a little while longer up there and then we went back to our seats. After church was over with we went to Bobby’s and the grown ups ate lunch. Then we went home. I spent the rest of the day just laying around in my t-shirt and resting. It was a strange day!

4/25/09

Today I got to go outside a lot! I didn’t even have to have a blanket over me or a hat on my head! After my second nap today Mommy put my in my carseat and put me in her car. I didn’t cry this time because Mawmaw sat with me. Mimi and Mommy rode up front. Mawmaw talked to me and sang to me. She even had some toys that made some funny noises that she kept showing me. I fell asleep before we got to the place that they kept referring to as “town.” When I woke up I was laying on a blanket in a little crib that they were pushing around. It was strange. They got me out when I woke up. They took turns holding and snuggling with me. I’m not sure what they were doing but it was very boring so I fell back to sleep. When I woke up we were in the car and almost home! Mimi and Mawmaw left and I snuggled with Mommy a little while longer. Daddy and Bubba stayed outside the rest of the day. Mommy and I went out there a few times, but we mostly stayed inside after our adventure. Mommy had a “head-ache” whatever that is. She only wanted to lay down. It was a fun day.

4/20/09

This morning when Mommy and Daddy left to go to work they forgot Bubba. He had to stay with me and Aunt Terri today. I didn’t really like this because Aunt Terri is mine and I don’t like to share her. During my after lunch nap Aunt Terri woke me up. She put me in that terrible seat that they call a “car seat.” They strap me down so I can’t move. I cry hoping that they will let me out but they never do. Aunt Terri put Bubba in his car seat too and we went to find Mommy. We found her at a gas station and we all got in her truck with her. She said that we were going to the “docter.” When we got there Aunt Terri was playing with Phillip and Mommy was snuggling with me, which is how I like it best. After they called mine and Bubba’s name we went into this small room where Mommy laid me down on a thing they called a scale. After they finished with me they weighed Bubba too. After that we left that room and went into another small room. The mean lady told Mommy that I weighed 17lbs and 14 oz. Apparently I am in the “ate-e-ith per-sent-ile” of my weight and the “seven-tee-ith per-sent-ile” of my height, whatever that means. After she told Mommy that she asked her a bunch of questions about me then she left. After a few minutes of Bubba making a lot of noise and getting into trouble a nice man comes in. He looked at Bubba for a few minutes and then Mommy laid me down on a table and the nice man checked me out real good. He told Mommy that everything looked great. After he left the mean lady came back in. She hurt me four times! I screamed really loud thinking that Mommy would pick me up but she didn’t. She must not have known what that mean lady was going to do or she wouldn’t have brought me there. After the mean lady was done Mommy picked me up and snuggled me for a few minutes. I started feeling better. Aunt Terri got Bubba and we left to go home. Mommy put me back in that mean car seat again. I decided that Mommy probably wasn’t going to let me out no matter how much I cried so I just slept on the way home. When we got home Mommy gave me some yummy grape tasting “med-i-sine.” It made me sleepy. After Daddy got home we went to Mawmaw’s house and the grown ups ate. I just laid around and enjoyed everyone snuggling with me. After it got dark outside they strapped me back into that seat again and we went home. I decided not to give up this time and I cried the whole way home. Mommy and Daddy never gave in though. Bubba got tired of hearing me cry and he started holding my hand. I love him. When we got home Mommy got me out, rocked me, and laid me down in my bed. I feel asleep pretty quickly….I was really tired.
